founder, azadi kenya
Azadi Kenya is a survivor-led, counter-trafficking NGO that focuses on the provision of long-term support for survivors of trafficking who, too often, find a lack of community support and understanding when reintegrating into society ensuing their experience with trafficking.
They run several programmes all of which are meant to facilitate healing, reintegration, and survivor leadership.
What is unique about Azadi?
It is one of the first survivor led organisations in Kenya
Long term reintegration support is needed because most survivors only begin to process trauma years after exiting their experience
Survivor leadership is a huge gap in the sector

founder and weaver- Collective threads initiative
The Collective Threads Initiative (CTI) is an initiative that mobilises tailored resources to communities worldwide, focusing on preventing exploitation and ensuring human dignity.
CTI adopts a cross-movement approach, recognising that human trafficking and exploitation are interconnected with labour rights, gender justice, and climate change.
What is unique about Collective Threads Initiative?
CTI uses a pan-African, queer, feminist lens, CTI emphasises lived experience leadership, dignified work, and equitable institutions to develop sustainable solutions.
CTI envisions a world where movements collaborate rather than operate in isolation, where funding directly reaches grassroots leaders, and where solutions are driven by those most affected.
By fostering equitable partnerships, shifting harmful narratives, and ensuring long-term resourcing for impactful work, CTI aims to create new paradigms for ending exploitation.

PWB are more than photographers. They are a global community of storytellers, dreamers, and changemakers who believe that when we change the story, we can change everything. PWB envision a world where storytelling becomes a force for healing, justice, and regeneration.
A world where we remember our kinship with all beings — human and more-than-human — and move together toward collective liberation and the protection of Mother Earth.
What is unique about Photographers Without Borders?
PWB are revolutionizing storytelling and creating a sanctuary for storytellers and stories that take us towards collective liberation. We believe that stories can heal, connect, and transform — when told ethically and with care.
Through educational workshops, grants, and creative collaborations, PWB empower people to tell stories that challenge the status quo and imagine new possibilities for our shared future.
PWB are reimagining what storytelling can be — a pathway toward awareness, empathy, and action that brings us all closer to the world we dream of.
