projects

Introduction

The following projects are projects that I am directly involved in. People have asked me regularly, how they can support the work that I do and for many organisations, the answer is always simple: donate. We need resources to be able to do the work that we do. However, if you cannot donate, you can request to see whether there are opportunities to volunteer or simply create awareness about the work that they do.

founder, azadi kenya

Azadi Kenya is a survivor-led, counter-trafficking NGO that focuses on the provision of long-term support for survivors of trafficking who, too often, find a lack of community support and understanding when reintegrating into society ensuing their experience with trafficking.

They run several programmes all of which are meant to facilitate healing, reintegration, and survivor leadership.

What is unique about Azadi?

  • It is one of the first survivor led organisations in Kenya

  • Long term reintegration support is needed because most survivors only begin to process trauma years after exiting their experience

  • Survivor leadership is a huge gap in the sector
